Heres the issue im having with my truck, first off its a 2007 sierra 1500 nnbs with the 5.3, the problem im having is i hear a constant swoosh swoosh swoosh sound from the engine compartment and it kinda sounds like its a grinding noise, my uncles 2010 silverado with the 5.3 doesnt make the noise, there is something def wrong with it but cant figure it out, im gonna try and take it to the dealership again tomarrow to see but they will prob say they dont hear it but i know its there cuz i popped the hood and i can hear it coming from somewhere around the middle of the engine and it follows the rpms of the truck, even passengers will notice the noise and say something, does anybody have any suggestions? thanks

First thing, Scan the vehicle.
Sometimes there may be hidden codes.
I try to stay away from my dealer too, the are to expensive and don`t trust them unless
you know someone personally who works there.
Check for noises with a mechanic`s. stethoscope if you don`t have one use a rad hose.
Check the radiator fan for proper function it may be stuck if it`s a viscous type (not familiar with your year).
If it has electric fan(s) and their running with engine rpm that`s a mystery to me.

it does it while idleing and driving, i will ask a buddy about it hes a mechanic, im guessing its in the valves possibly or a bad bearing somewhere in the engine

yea its squeeks sometimes, and yea its still under warranty, im just getting some ideas to tell them at the dealership. so you guys either thinks it a vacuum leak or the accessory drive?
commonly, most people arent putting 33k on a truck a year. i drive a lot. and only put 17k on mine.
your not retarded, but im just saying every post from that guy that ive read is retarded. and i assume the only reason why he was going to the dealer was because he still has warranty.
so i think he is more dumb for calling the guy out on it, not knowing all the information.
Well the dealership said it was my alternator bearings so they swapped a new one in and the sound is gone. So that answers it. Thanks for the suggestions
