Default Fuel Filter won't break loose!

Any ideas? I've just about killed myself trying to loosen the nuts on that damn thing...bought some line wrenches sprayed the lines for two days with PB Blaster bloodied both my hands and nothing...I'm afraid if I tweak it any more I'll break the fuel line.
Any thoughts would be great. Thanks and keep up the good work.

hmmm.....ive had really tight one but nothing two adjustable wrenches couldnt handle, it is alot harder on the ground though, you cant apply as much force

sometimes, actually "tightening" nuts just a hair can at least get things unstuck.

Maybe try working the nuts back and forth just a bit to free them.

first off you need to use the right tools.

You need a flare nut wrench

Worst case, you'll just have to cut the fuel line. Take it to a shop if you don't have the right tools. Or buy them.

Line and a flare nut are the same wrench.

in the past, I've cut them out with pipe cutters and replaced the section with short sections of hard fuel line, a new filter, 2 4" pieces of 3/8" rubber hose and a couple clamps, its not pretty, but it works

napa used to carry short sections of hard fuel line that had the correct fittings for a fuel filter

DO NOT DO THIS.

You can cut the filter instead of cutting the line. Save yourself the time. I spent weeks with PB blaster and flare nut wrenches failing to unscrew my lines from my fuel filter. Finally I gave up and sliced the fuel filter's nut in the direction that would cut across the threads if I cut deeply. I did not have to cut that deep; before I reached the threads it loosened enough to turn.

A diamond cutoff blade on a dremel (or if you are capable of using regular cutoff blades, more power to you).

Edit:

Edit again: Make sure there's no fuel or vapors around while you do this. Can you say "fire hazard" and "death"?

Thanks for all the great ideas! I'll have another go at it and if that fails I'll start cutting that nut off.
Looks like an original to me but who knows? Sure is in there.
Thanks again!
