Default GU6 3:42 Rear Axle is it a posi ????

Hey guys my 02 Tahoe has a GU6 3:42 rear axle with the tow package. Just wondering if that would be a factory posi unit. Please let me know if you can.

Is there a G80 code in the glove box? If yes, you have a limited slip differential. If no G80, then no, you don't have an LSD.

Yeah, GU6 only denotes the ratio. G80 will tell you if its a locker.

just jack up the rear wheeels, turn the right side so it would be going forward....if the other side is going in the same direction..its a posi....if its going in the oppisite direction it not

Look in the glove box, right next to the gu6 will be g80 if it has a factory locker.

no G80 code in the glovebox. I would have thought that would be standard with the tow package, guess I was wrong.
