Hey guys! Im brand-spankin new to this whole forum thing... so this probably wont be perfect.
Okay to start out, i have a 2001 gmc sierra rcsb stepside. I have been researching and researching flip kits for my truck, ive even considered making my own. But one thing scares me.. pinion angle. Can anyone give me a good answer on kits and a technical how to on how not to screw up my rearend?
Any help would be great! And thanks ahead of time to anyone that helps me out. Gonna try uploading pictures of my truck soon
rcsb probably wont need a shim. you could get the DJM flip kit (I wouldn't) and adjust the pinion angle...their flip kit allows for adjustment but I don't like it....general consensus is that McG is the best.
super simple...remove the bed, cover your back glass (it's tempered and metal shavings will burrow into the glass) cover fuel cell w/welding blanket (if you want) measure 2x cut for your notches and flip the axle. some come with shock relocators. Like other's have said pinion angle can be shimmed by the spring perches but not always necessary. you'll either need a few guys to lift the bed off or an engine hoist. It's super easy. just take your time. I had a DJM kit on my old 01 Sierra and it never gave me problems.
